Louisville redshirt junior Jon Green confirmed on Christmas afternoon that he will in fact transfer from the school to finish his career elsewhere.
It was reported earlier this month that Greenard would be transferring to Florida, reuniting with former Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
The Alabama native missed all but a few snaps during the 2018 season after suffering what ended up being a season ending injury during Louisville’s opener.
Greenard was easily the most accomplished returning player on defense for the Cards in 2018. As a redshirt sophomore in 2017 Greenard led the team with 15.5 tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with seven sacks.
Because he’s graduating, Greenard should be able to play right away for the Gators. He should have two years of eligiblity left due to his medical redshirt season in 2018.
This sucks. Unfortunately these situations are common when programs go through a coaching change.
Although I wish he’d be finishing his career at Louisville, I can understand Greenard’s decision and wish him nothing but the best in Gainesville.<
