Former Cardinal commit Jerrell Moore of Fern Creek High School will now sign his letter of intent next Friday. Earlier this week Moore was scheduled to sign today with Damarcus Smith, but for some reason his plans have changed. Moore was committed to the Cards for over a year, but decided to reopen his recruiting at the beginning of the year. Due to all of the high-level recruits Coach Strong has received commitments from in the last month, Moore was asked to gray-shirt. After looking at his other options I think Moore has realized Louisville is the best place for him.
As far as Damarcus Smith, I think this makes it look even worse for the Cards. One would think that if these two were going to the same place they would probably sign together. However, Smith will still be signing his letter of intent this afternoon at 1:30. If I had to guess, I would say there is about a 55-60% chance that Smith signs with Central Florida this afternoon. I could be wrong and I really hope I am, but I just don’t have a good feeling about it. I realize this is an 18-year-old kid, who right now might not even know himself where he is going to sign, but if everything I am hearing is correct he has lost a lot of interest in the Cardinal program. Something has really rubbed him the wrong way.
