Jaylen Johnson Pleads Guilty To Marijuana Possession Charge

Chris Humphrey

Some unfortunate news regarding the Louisville Cardinal basketball program surfaced on Wednesday afternoon. Forward Jaylen Johnson entered a guilty plea in Woodford County, Kentucky, for a charge of marijuana possession.

WLEX in Lexington was the first to report the news. Johnson will pay a fine of $260.50 by April 24 in connection with the case.

Following Louisville’s NCAA Tournament loss to Michigan, Johnson announced that he’d test the NBA Draft waters, but not hire an agent. along with teammates Donovan Mitchell and Deng Adel.

Johnson is expected to return and was likely just going through the pre-draft process in order to receive feedback from NBA teams. He averaged 8.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 2016-17 as a junior.

Shortly after the news became public, UofL spokesman Kenny Klein said they just became aware of the matter and have addressed it internally.

How have the times changed. Everyone was wanting Chane’s head for his possession charge’ and ended up getting kicked off the team. Now Johnson has one and it’s no longer a big deal..smh

Known by Rick’ rick never said he got kicked of foenother reasons on top of his possession charge’ s. So everyone making statements about “other things” are assumptions
