In his second season in the NBA former UofL big man Montrezl Harrell has found a solid role with the Houston Rockets. Harrell averaged 9.6 points for Houston during the regular season as they went 55-27 earning the three seed in the Western Conference.
NBA MVP candidate James Harden deserves most of the credit for Houston’s impressive 2016-17 season. Harden averaged 29.1 points this season and a career high 11.2 assists. There’s no easier assist for a guard than throwing an alley-oop to Montrezl Harrell and Harden went the extra mile to show his appreciation.
Celebrity jeweler Boodaddy Diamonds told TMZ over the weekend that Harden and Harrell were recently looking at jewelry from Diamonds’ collection when Harrell saw a chain that he really liked. Boodaddy said Harden secretly purchased the $30,000 chain for his teammate.
Harrell is doing well for himself earning around a million per season in his three-year rookie contract, but considering Harden is making $29 million, I’d say the $30,000 purchase didn’t do too much damage to his bank account. Nonetheless, still an awesome gesture from a teammate.<
