It Doesn’t Get Much Better For Rick Pitino

The past six days have been unbelievably incredible for Rick Pitino. I’m pretty sure coach Pitino will never have another week like the one he’s just had.

Wednesday, April, 3 – Pitino received confirmation that he would be welcomed with the 2013 class of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Wednesday, April, 3 – Pitino’s son, Richard, finds out he has been hired to be the next head basketball coach at the University of Minnesota.

Wednesday, April, 3 – Pitino and his wife celebrated their 37th anniversary.

Saturday, April, 6 – Pitino’s horse, Goldencents won the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby qualifying for the Kentucky Derby in May.

Saturday, April, 6 – Louisville defeated Wichita State to advance to the National Championship, despite being down by twelve points in the second half.

Monday, April, 8 – Pitino officially welcomed into the Naismith Hall of Fame at the championship ceremony in Atlanta.

Monday, April, 8 – Pitino received a $2.7 million bonus, the accumulation of three years deferred bonuses.

Monday, April, 8 – Louisville won the National Championship, becoming the first coach ever to win a championship at two different schools.

Monday, April, 8 – Pitino received another $150,000 for winning the National Championship, putting his earning for this year over $6 million.
