Regardless of what happens at Kroger Field on Saturday afternoon, Bobby Petrino and the Louisville Cardinals will not have had the season they hoped for. An 8-4 record certainly sounds a lot better than a 7-5 record, but this team had goals of being in the running for a spot in the College Football Playoff and that didn’t happen.
The Cards are a double-digit favorite over their rival and are expected to win the game, therefore a win wouldn’t be a huge deal. Don’t get me wrong, beating your rival is always something worth celebrating, but it wouldn’t exactly change the momentum of the program. With that said, a loss to Kentucky for the second consecutive year would be devastating for the fans.
The pressure is on Louisville Saturday. Hear me out…
A win against Kentucky on Saturday may not completely salvage Louisville's season, but a loss would be a huge gut punch for the fans. I think the pressure is on the Cards.
