As expected, Scott Satterfield and the Louisville Cardinals have opened as underdogs in the annual Governor’s Cup rivalry match-up with Kentucky.
VegasInsider.com had the opening line as Kentucky -4. It didn’t take long for the line to -3, which is where it is as of Sunday evening.
Unless there’s enough movement for Louisville to be on the plus side, this will be the first time the Cards have been underdogs against Kentucky in back-to-back seasons since 2010 & 2011.
Both teams have had different seasons than most expected, therefore the early lines we saw look a lot different than the current one. FanDuel had Kentucky -13.5 as of May 31. In early August the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook had Kentucky -9 over the Cards.
Louisville improved to 7-4 against the spread on Saturday, covering 8 points against Syracuse.
Kentucky enters the game 6-5 overall and are 7-4-1 against the spread.
I assume we’ll continue to see movement prior to Saturday’s game.<
