Gorgui Dieng Isn’t Taking Any Shit When It Comes To T-Wolves Drama

Even those that pay no attention to the NBA would have a hard time not hearing about what’s going on with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Minnesota’s star player Jimmy Butler wants out and head coach/president Tom Thibodeau has little interest in meeting his trade demands.

This has led to an all out shit show like we’ve never seen in the NBA.

Due to the trade demand from Butler, those that cover the franchise have tabbed former Card Gorgui Dieng as a likely trade asset to be packaged with the four time all star.

Dane Moore of ZoneCoverage.com mentioned Dieng’s contract being an issue and Gorgs wasn’t having it.

Dieng is due $48.7 million over the next three years of his contract. The deal looks off considering his stats from this past season, but Dieng has proven that he’s more than a serviceable big in the NBA.

The contract extension for Dieng came after he’d shown improvement in three straight seasons. Unfortunately, he saw a much smaller role after Thibs took over. Dieng averaged 30 minutes per game over three seasons and in year one of Thibs era he played 16.9 minutes per game.

To be fair, Dieng did criticize a guy who seemed to be simply doing his job. That said, Gorgs loves Minnesota and doesn’t want to leave. For good reason, they love him too.
