The Louisville Cardinal football program received some good news on Thursday night as they picked up their sixteenth commitment from the 2018 class.

Manuel Allen, a four-star receiver from Corona, California, announced via his Twitter account that he’s flipped his commitment from Nebraska to Louisville.

I’m sure Bobby Petrino and his staff have been putting in the necessary work with Allen, but his commitment appeared to surprise most who cover recruiting.

The 6-foot-2 receiver is Louisville’s highest rated commitment in the 2018 class, per ESPN’s rankings. Allen is currently ranked as the 169th best overall player in 2018.

Allen committed to Nebraska in April and had briefly been committed to USC in February. The California native has an impressive offer list, which includes Ole Miss, Oregon, UCLA, Utah, BYU, Cal, and Washington, among others.
