Former Louisville running back Jeremy Smith will rejoin the Cardinal program roughly nine months after deciding to transfer for his senior season.
Jody Demling of Cardinal Authority broke the news that Smith has rejoined the team and participated in his first practice on Tuesday.
Here's the full story: Senior running back Jeremy Smith rejoins the Louisville football team. He left in December but didn't land at any other schools, was back at practice on Tuesday. https://t.co/neF5JkbcSm

Smith was a senior in 2017, but suffered a season ending injury in week two. He only played in the season opener against Purdue and received just five carries.
Bobby Petrino granted Smith a release in early December. He was expected to use a medical redshirt and be able to play right away at another school.
From what I’ve gathered, Smith didn’t garner the interest from other programs like he had hoped for.
Smith’s return to Louisville will give the Cards even more depth at running back.
