Florida Defensive Back Decommits From Louisville

Chris Humphrey

Bobby Petrino’s 2018 recruiting class got a little smaller this week. A little over a year after giving the Louisville Cardinal program a verbal commitment, defensive back Jamal Anderson has decided to reopen his recruitment.

The three-star Florida native was one of the first commitments for the Louisville staff in 2018. At that time, Anderson’s only offer was from UofL.

It’s unclear what led to Anderson’s decision to decommit, but It’s worth noting that UofL landed commitments from two defensive backs last week. That certainly could’ve been a factor. Also, Anderson was initially recruited by former secondary coach Keith Heyward who joined the Oregon staff following the 2016 season.
