The future of the Louisville basketball program under Chris Mack is bright for a variety of reasons.
Mack’s ability to recruit is just one of the many factors that led to him being the no-brainer hire.
In his final season at Xavier Mack signed a top ten recruiting class. Now that he’s selling a program like Louisville, we shouldn’t be shocked that he has signed a top five class in 2019 and are in on a handful of highly rated 2020 prospects.
According to the 247Sports database, Louisville has offered seven players in 2020. One of the seven is 6-foot-8 five-star combo forward Jaemyn Brakefield.
Mack and his staff will have some stiff competition for Brakefield considering he’s one of the top 20 players in the country. But with that said, Louisville appears to be in great shape.
“Chris Mack is probably the coolest coach in college basketball,” Brakefield recently told Jody Demling of CardinalAuthority.com.
“He has a great personality and I love the way he coaches. I really like watching how he coaches his team and that’s why I like Louisville so much.”
It doesn’t hurt that Brakefield is currently teammates with Louisville signee Quinn Slazinski at Huntington Prep in West Virginia.
Brakefield is definitely a name to keep an eye on for Louisville in 2020.<
