With the 2017 College Football season less than two months away, the annual preseason award watch lists are starting to be released. Within the past few days a total of five Louisville Cardinals have landed on watch lists.
Lamar Jackson has been named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which goes to the best quarterback in college football. This should come as no surprise, considering Jackson won the awardin 2016.
Cornerback Jaire Alexander has been named a candidate for the 23rd Chuck Bednarik Award, which goes to the nation’s top defensive player.
Tight ends Micky Crum and Jordan Davis were named to the Jack Mackey Award, which is given annually to college football’s top tight end.
