We’re now just a couple of days away from the annual rivalry showdown between Louisville and Kentucky…
Headed into the season Louisville was a team without much expectations in year one of the Chris Mack era, while John Calipari was believed to have one of his best Kentucky teams…
Roughly six weeks later neither team is where we thought they’d be.
Despite being unranked, Louisville has a strong resume thus far with a top ten win and all three losses have been to teams that are currently ranked in the top 25 of the AP Poll.
Kentucky is 9-2 thus far and didn’t have a win worth speaking of until Saturday’s neutral court victory over No. 14 North Carolina. Despite having just two losses, Kentucky hasn’t looked great against their soft out of conference schedule.
While we wait for the opening line to be released let’s take a look at ESPN’s College Basketball Power Index Predictor and the Sagarin Predictor.
Louisville Score Prediction: 85.65
Kentucky Score Prediction: 86.78
Add on 3.20 for home-court advantage = Louisville 88.85 Kentucky 86.78.<
