Donovan Mitchell’s first career NBA playoff game ended in a loss, but he wasn’t about to let it end prematurely due to injury.
Mitchell suffered a toe injury late in the game and was noticeably limping. He was taken out of the game to be evaluated, but made it pretty clear that he intended on returning to the game, regardless of the injury.

Mitchell did get an x-ray on his toe, which came back negative and later returned to the game. In 35 minutes Mitchell tallied 27 points, 10 rebounds and three assists on 50% shooting.
Donovan is the first player since Lebron James Mitchell in 2006 with 25 points and 10 rebounds in their career playoff debut.
The Jazz will look to bounce back in game two on Wednesday night.
