During Louisville’s NIT run there were rumblings that David Padgett’s name was being mentioned for multiple head coaching jobs.
Once it became official that Padgett would not be retained, we’ve learned there are at least three jobs that he’s believed to be a candidate for.
CardinalAuthority.com reports that Padgett’s name has been mentioned for head coaching jobs at Utah State, Arkansas Little Rock and Middle Tennessee.
“In this profession it’s all about options,” Padgett said at his send off press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
“Obviously I want to continue to be a head coach, now if I don’t have the option to be and I have the option to be an assistant somewhere that has a great program then that’s something I’ll have to think about.”
At this point I’d assume that Padgett isn’t the top candidate for any of the jobs, but I expect he’ll be very busy over the next week or so interviewing for several positions.
