It didn’t take former Cardinal David Levitch long to make the transition from player to coach.
Levitch will take over as the head varsity boys basketball coach at his alma-mater, North Oldham High School in Goshen, Kentucky.
The school officially made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.
“It was one of those things where we were looking to make a move and David, as an alum, understands the school and culture,” North Oldham athletic director Alan Yanke tells the Courier-Journal. “He said himself that he had a great experience playing here at North. It’s nice to bring him back home to lead the Mustangs.”
With this being a last minute hire, Levitch will be the interim head coach for the 2018-19 season. The previous coach was informed just a week before practice started that his contract wasn’t being renewed. Levitch’s status will be reevaluated after the season.
We’re all North Oldham fans now.<
