Former Cardinals

Damion Lee Lands New Opportunity

Chris Humphrey

Former Louisville Cardinal Damion Lee’s bad luck didn’t end when the team was handed a self imposed post-season ban in his only year with the Cards.

Lee was picked up by the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G-League after receiving a training camp invitation from the Boston Celtics. The former Cardinal averaged 17.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, but suffered a season ending torn ACL in December. This was the second torn ACL of Lee’s career.

Lee is still recovering from the injury and when he returns to the court he’ll be playing for a new team. Over the weekend Lee was involved in a three-team G-League trade that will send him to Santa Cruz Warriors, the G-League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors.

I’m not sure if the trade had anything to do with Lee’s connection with the Curry family, but I suppose it’s possible. For those who weren’t aware, Lee’s girlfriend Sydel Curry is the younger sister of NBA superstar Steph Curry.

Happy fof y'all! @jazmiyagi
