For the first time this season Bobby Petrino and the Louisville Cardinals have opened up as underdogs. As of Monday morning, the No. 3 ranked Clemson Tigers are the favorites in Saturday’s showdown.
Louisville was initially favored by 1.5 points by at least one oddsmaker, but Clemson is now favored by 2.5 points over the Cards.
Louisville has been favored in each of their first two games this season. The Cards failed to cover the 25-point spread in their season opener against Purdue and barely covered the 12-point spread against North Carolina over the weekend.
Clemson enters the game with a 2-0 record and has covered the spread in each game. Most recently the Tigers their 6-point spread with a 14-6 win over Auburn. You’d normally stay away from a 40-point spread, but the Tigers had no trouble in their season opener as they crushed Kent State 56-3.
