After spending his first two seasons with the Houston Rockets, former Louisville Cardinal Chinanu Onuaku has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
Houston has reportedly sent Dallas a 2020 second-round and cash considerations in exchange for Onuaku.
This appears to be a money saving move from Houston, considering Onuaku is guaranteed $1,544,951 for the 2018-19 season.
After being taken 37th overall by the Rockets in the 2016 draft, Onuaku spent most of the past two seasons with Houston’s G-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Onuaku will likely head into Dallas’ training camp competing for one of the last roster spots.<
