Can Louisville Flip Dez Fitzpatrick’s Younger Brother?

Chris Humphrey

Louisville’s Dez Fitzpatrick has to be one of the hottest receivers in the country right now. Dez is coming off three consecutive games with more than 100-yards receiving.  He’s averaged 21.5 yards per catch and made four endzone appearances in the Cards previous three games.

Adding another talented receiver from the Fitzpatrick family seems like a real possibility for Scott Satterfield.

Dez’s younger brother, Christian, is one of many recruits visiting this weekend for the Clemson game. The younger Fitzpatrick gave Mike Leach and Washington State a verbal commitment over the summer and remains committed, but that won’t keep the staff from trying to flip him to Louisville.

Christian is listed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports. At the time of his commitment he chose Washington State over power five offers from Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Louisville, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, Syracuse and West Virginia.

The commitment to Washington State made sense considering Mike Leach is known for an explosive offense as well as Louisville coming off a 2-10 season. With that said, now that Satterfield has shown that the program is headed in the right direction and proving he will utilize big play receivers, maybe the younger Fitzpatrick will reconsider.

It’ll be tough to fill the shoes of his big brother, but if Christian is even close to as good as Dez he’d be a big addition for the Cards.
