Bush Could Still Play In Opener

On Saturday night, Raiders running back Michael Bush broke his thumb. On Sunday, coach Tom Cable said that the co-starter will have a “procedure” on the appendage, according to Jerry McDonald of the Bay Area News Group.

We assume that “procedure” means surgery. Unless Bush will be sticking the thing into a pie, or something.

Cable said that Bush will have protection on his thumb (maybe a plum?) but that he won’t wear a cast. Bush has not necessarily been ruled out of the regular-season opener.

Darren McFadden and Bush are listed as the co-starters at running back, but Bush as started each of the team’s preseason games.
