It didn’t take long for two staffers from the Louisville football program’s previous regime to find work.
Per FootballScoop.com, Lonnie Galloway will join Mack Brown’s staff at North Carolina as the offensive coordinator and Brian VanGorder will join Scot Loeffler’s staff at Bowling Green as the associate head coach/linebackers coach.
Galloway spent three seasons at Louisville as the offensive coordinator, but didn’t have play-calling duties until Bobby Petrino was fired.
Prior to joining Louisville’s staff, Galloway was the wide receivers coach at West Virginia. Galloway will likely be remembered for his involvement in WakeyLeaks.
VanGorder spent just one season at Louisville after taking over for Peter Sirmon. The numbers from BVG’s one season as the defensive coordinator suggest that he could be one of the worst hires in Louisville football history.
Louisville’s 2018 defense ranked 122nd out of 130 FBS teams. Louisville is the only power five program to ever give up 50 or more points in five constitutive games.<
