Chris Mack and his staff haven’t been able to secure a point guard commitment from the 2020 class yet, but they’re still working at it.
Caleb Love and Deivon Smith were a priority for the Louisville staff throughout the spring and summer, but Love chose North Carolina earlier this month and Smith recently committed to Mississippi State.
According to a recent report from Evan Daniels of 247Sports, Mack has turned his attention to one of the top point guards still available in 2020.
Four-star point guard Jalen Terry committed to Michigan State in the spring, but decided to reopen his recruitment a couple weeks ago. Chris Mack has reportedly been in to see Terry since his decommitment and the two sides are working to schedule a visit. LSU, Oregon and DePaul have also been in to see Terry since he became available.
It’s tough to know where Louisville stands with Terry at this point, but they do have some history with the Michigan native. Terry took an unofficial visit to Louisville last September and picked up an offer from Chris Mack.
I assume Louisville lost contact with Terry once he committed Michigan State, but hopefully the staff can quickly rekindle their relationship and finally land their point guard. Terry is the second highest ranked point guard that isn’t currently committed to a school.<
