With Saturday’s loss to Virginia, Chris Mack and the Cardinals finished the regular season with a 24-7 overall record and a 15-5 record in ACC play.

With Duke and Virginia also finishing with a 15-5 league record, all three share second place in the regular season standings. Virginia gets the 2-seed due to the tiebreaker, while Louisville is slotted as the 3-seed and Duke is the 4-seed.

With a top four finish, Louisville earns a double-bye in the ACC Tournament. Their first post season game will be on Thursday night at 9:00 PM in the quarterfinals.

The winner of Virginia Tech and North Carolina will play Syracuse in the second round. The winner of that game will be the Cards first post season opponent.

Since joining the ACC in 2014-15, Louisville is 2-4 in the ACC Tournament. The 3-seed is the best starting position the Cards have had as ACC members.
