Former Card Breno Giacomini Earns Multi-Year Deal With The Seattle Seahawks

On November 16th Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle James Carpenter suffered a season ending anterior cruciate ligament tear in practice.  That injury moved former University of Louisville offensive lineman Breno Giacomini up the depth chart.  After only appearing in games, Giacomini now found himself the starter, and held onto that position the remaining seven games of the season.  Breno was given the opportunity he had been looking for in his four years in the league, and he excelled in it.  So much that he was rewarded in his efforts with a multi-year contract to remain with the Seahawks.  The two year extension is worth $1.5 million in 2012 and $3 million in 2013.

There are a number of other former Louisville stars currently listed as free agents as well.  Chris Redman (Atlanta), Mike Bush (Oakland), Brock Bolen (Jacksonville), Harry Douglas (Atlanta), Deion Branch (New England), Gary Barnidge (Carolina), Amobi Okoye (Chicago) and William Gay (Pittsburgh),
