For prospects in the 2015 recruiting class, it’s still very earlier in the recruiting process. It’ll be a while before most top recruits make a college decision, however a handful are trimming their list and focusing on a select few schools.
Las Vegas big man Stephen Zimmerman is one of the first top tier prospects from the 2015 class to announce that he’s trimmed his list .
Per his Twitter account, Zimmerman says that his final eight are Kansas, North Carolina, UNLV, Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky, UCLA and Arizona, in no particular order. He also thanked all of the schools that have expressed interest in him.
Zimmerman has been on the Louisville radar for quite some time and was one of the first prospects from the 2015 class to pick up an offer from Rick Pitino. The 6-foot-11, 225-pound, prospect is widely considered to be top center in the class.
In late February, Pitino was in Las Vegas at Bishop Gorman High School to see Zimmerman for at least the third time since offering him a scholarship. Assistant Wyking Jones has also been involved in Zimmerman’s recruitment. I’d expect Kenny Johnson to get involved as well.
Scout.com ranks Zimmerman as the fifth best overall player in the 2015 class.
