Rick Pitino’s team has played their best basketball over the past four games with wins over SMU, Houston, UConn and South Florida. The road victory over Connecticut finally gives the Cards a quality win to add to their resume.

With a 17-3 record at the midway point of the regular season, Louisville’s projected seeding for the NCAA tournament looks much better than it did one week ago. The Cards have climbed in both CBS Sports and ESPN’s bracketology.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN.com has Louisville as a #5 seed in the Midwest Region.

How is it that Louisville is ranked 12th yet they are listed as a 5th seed. Wouldn’t being ranked 12th have them at a 3rd seed? Some one help me understand what they are thinking because that just doesn’t seem right. I fully expect Louisville to win the AAC this year and move up in seeding but seriously how do you give a 5th sees to the 12th ranked team in the nation?

If ESPN is correct UL will have the hardest road, but I’m not surprised by that….
