Earlier this morning, The Cardinal Connect shared a photo of Kevin Ware at the Miami Heat game on Wednesday evening using crutches.

It now appears that Ware’s injury isn’t related to the compound fracture in his right leg that he suffered in last season’s NCAA tournament and the new injury isn’t considered serious.

Jeff Greer, the UofL beat writer for the Courier Journal recently caught up with Louisville sports information director Kenny Klein to get an update on Ware’s status.

Klein says X-rays were negative and no serious injury was revealed. Ware told the coaching staff that he was kicked in the shin during Tuesday’s game against Missouri State and that he was very sore when he woke up the next morning.

I’d say Ware is questionable at best for Saturday’s game against Florida International. He is averaging 1.7 points in 5.9 minutes per game this season.
