Myles Turner, a five star, 7-foot, 240-pound center, participated in the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team’s October Mini-Camp in Colorado Springs, CO., over the weekend.
Turner was expected to take a visit to Kansas over the weekend, but opted to head to Colorado instead. While participating in the mini-camp, Turner gave an update on his recruiting and fortunately for Louisville, it appears that they’re still in the mix.
In early August, Turner trimmed his list to eight; Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Texas, in no particular order. He informed Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com over the weekend that his list hasn’t changed and all eight schools are still under consideration.
Turner is currently in the process of scheduling official visits. It would be huge for Louisville to lure the 7-footer on campus for a visit. Turner is currently ranked as the sixth best overall player in the 2014 class.
Louisville picked up a commitment from center Chinanu Onuaku on Friday afternoon, but I certainly don’t think that will keep them from pursing Turner. It’s been well noted that the front-court has been the main focus for Pitino and his staff in 2014.
