Former Cardinal Samardo Samuels was one of the more recent Cardinals to spend time in the NBA. When he came to Louisville from New Jersey, by way of Jamaica, he was ranked as one of the top high school prospects to ever commit to Louisville.
Samardo spent two solid seasons here, but never really lived up to the hype that the No.2 rated player in the class brings. Samardo left after his sophomore year and went undrafted in the NBA draft that year. He was picked up by the Cleveland Cavaliers where he played for a brief stint until he was waived two years later.
There is no reason to worry about the Jamaican sensation these days as photos from his Instagram account show that he was just introduced by a team in Milan. After spending part of last season with a team in Jerusalem Samardo inked a two year teal with Emporio Armani Milano of Lega basket series A which is one of the top leagues in Italy.
While I’m sure ‘Mardo as well as the fans wish they could see his NBA career continue, you have to admit that Milan, Italy is a pretty good place to play pro basketball.
