Jeff Goodman of ESPN reported on Monday morning that Peyton Siva has signed a contract with the Detroit Pistons. Goodman says that he spoke to Rick Pitino this morning who confirmed the news. Siva confirmed the news as well via his Instagram account.
The details of the deal haven’t been made public yet and the Pistons haven’t officially commented on the situation. However, the deal is reportedly for two years with the second year being a team option.
The Pistons made a blockbuster trade last week sending Brandon Knight, Khris Middleton and center Viacheslav Kravtsov to Milwaukee for All Star point guard Brandon Jennings.
Acquiring another point guard made Siva’s future in Detroit look grim; however it opened a roster spot, which was all that mattered. Earlier in the summer, the Pistons signed veteram point guards Chauncey Billups and Will Bynum.
With five point guards on the roster, I’m not exactly sure where Siva fits in, but he’ll be on an NBA roster this season, which is a dream come true. GET. EXCITED.
