With just 47 days until the 2013 college football season starts, the official Louisville football media guide has been released, which means we get our first glimpse at the depth chart. One of the many things that I’ve learned after watching Charlie Strong run a program over the past few years is that the initial depth charts aren’t always accurate. In no way am I calling Charlie Strong a liar, but I think you can expect to see some changes to the depth chart once practice gets started.
A couple of positions that stand out to me on the initial depth chart are tight end and defensive tackle. I find it very hard to believe that Gerald Christian won’t be the full time starter at tight end. Ryan Hubbell and Zeke Pike will play, but Christian may be one of the bigger pieces to this year’s offense. Redshirt freshman Pedro Sibiea has jumped all the way up to second string at the defensive tackle position. That’s pretty impressive since he’s passed Roy Philon and BJ Dubose.
