Isaiah Whitehead, a 6-foot-4 scoring guard from Brooklyn, N.Y., picked up a scholarship offer from Rick Pitino in October. Eight months later, the four-star prospect has become one of Louisville’s top targets in the 2014 class.
Whitehead is currently participating in the NBA Players Association Top 100 camp in Charlottesville, VA. The New York native has gotten quite a bite of attention over the past two days with some impressive performances at the camp.
In an interview with Steve Jones of the Courier-Journal, Whitehead says Louisville is currently recruiting him the hardest. He also says he’s been in contact with fellow New Yorker Russ Smith. Whitehead is considered to be one of the top scorers in the 2014 class.
Whitehead has scholarship offers from Arizona, Florida, Georgetown, Iowa State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Louisville, Minnesota, Syracuse, St. John’s, Texas and Xavier. Louisville and Syracuse are thought to be the favorites.
