Following Louisville’s 2013 Sugar Bowl championship Wright decided to forgo his senior season and take a shot at the NFL. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in December, but had one more year of eligibility due to redshirting as a true freshman.
Although multiple local media outlets didn’t expect him to return to Louisville, Wright’s decision wasn’t made official until a couple of weeks ago, which means NFL teams didn’t realize he was entering the draft. Now that they know Wright is coming out, his interest level has picked up.
The Clermont, FL., native worked out with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this week and has a private workout scheduled with the Seattle Seahawks on April 10. Wright was impressive at Louisville’s annual pro day last week in front of 16 NFL scouts.
Wright was Louisville’s leading rusher in 2012 with 824 yards and ten touchdowns.
