The Louisville women’s basketball team has received a 5-seed in this year’s NCAA tournament. Jeff Walz and the Lady Cards will take on 12th-seeded Middle Tennessee State at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the KFC Yum! Center. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
The Lady Cards finished the season 25-8 overall, despite season ending injuries to Tia Gibbs, Asia Taylor and Shawnta’ Dyer.
Should the Lady Cards get past Middle Tennessee State, they’ll play the winner of fourth-seeded Purdue and No. 13 Liberty, who will play at 12:10 in the other Sunday first-round game at the KFC Yum! Center. If Walz’s team can get to the Sweet-16 in Oklahoma City, they’ll likely meet No. 1 seed and defending national champion Baylor.
You can get tickets for all sessions at the KFC Yum! Center first and second round games at $32 for adults and $18 for youths, seniors and college students. The first round games will be played on Sunday with the winners then playing on Tuesday.
