2013 Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic Rosters Released

The Kentucky Derby Press Office has released the rosters for the 2013 Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic. As always the event is loaded with some of the top high school players in the country. The event will take place on Friday April 19 at Freedom Hall. Two of Louisville’s four class of 2013 signee’s will participate in the event. Anton Gill and Akoy Agau will play for the white team.

You probably recognize a good majority of the names on both teams. Louisville was at one time actively recruiting nine of the players in the event.

For the first time in three years, Kentucky will have a signee participating in the event. Derek Willis, a 6-foot-9 forward from Bullitt East High School in Mt. Washington, KY., will play for the black squad. Bullitt East head coach Troy Barr will coach the team.

Tickets for the event are on sale now.  Basketball Classic tickets are $11 and $16 (includes $1 facility fee) and are available at TicketMaster locations (www.ticketmaster.com), by phone (800-745-3000) or the Freedom Hall box office (502-367-5144).

  4. Gosh these rosters look sooo weak!!!! I remember when this event use to be so good, and not being able to hold it at the Yum Center just kills attendance in my opinion. But, $10 of decent basketball while (boring) baseball season is in session..PRICELESS.

  5. I know the second night will be held at freedom hall, but does anyone know where the autograph signing will take place?
