Russ Smith has been named to the Big East weekly honor roll after two impressive performances last week for Louisville. In two wins, Smith averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0
steals. He also connected on 19-of-21 free throws.
Rick Pitino was very pleased with Smith’s performance against South Florida on Sunday, saying after the game that is was his best performance of the season. Russ is just 34-points away from joining Louisville’s 1,000 point club. That’ll be a very impressive accomplishment considering this is just the second season where Smith is receiving valuable minutes. He scored only 38-points as a true freshman. Below is a press release from BigEast.org.
