As I mentioned last week, the Louisville football program published an updated roster at GoCards.com with the new walk-ons and early enrollees added. One of the new walk-ons added to the roster has some history with the Louisville program.
Nick Robertson, a 6-foot-5 205-pound kicker/punter graduated from Louisville’s Trinity High School in 2010 and was originally a member of Steve Kragthorpe’s 2010 recruiting class.
Unfortunately for Robertson, he had some off the field issues during his senior season which kept him from joining the Louisville program. He apparently never enrolled in college anywhere to play football and is listed as a true freshman at the Louisville roster.
Robertson was one of the top punters in the state of Kentucky during his high school career and attracted attention from Ohio State before committing to Steve Kragthorpe and Louisville. He handled kickoffs, field goals and punts while at Trinity, but was projected to mostly punting at the college level. Robertson will be able to complete for playtime right away, considering Louisville struggled with punts and kickoffs last season.

All legitimate contenders perform well in all phases of the game (offense, defense, and SPECIAL TEAMS)… Big addition to the kicking game and with James Quick as a potential return man, with this years schedule?!? If we stay humble and hungry, there’s no reason we shouldn’t run the table… L1C4
