Rick Pitino was set to travel to Evansville, IN., tonight to see Jaquan Lyle, a 6-foot-5 190-pound combo guard from Bosse High School. Lyle has been one of Louisville’s top targets in the 2014 class for over a year. He has taken multiple unofficial visits to Louisville and has the Cards in his most recently updated list along with Illinois, Indiana, Texas, Georgetown, NC State, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Tennessee and Florida. Lyle is rated as five star prospect and is considered to be one of the top ten overall players in the 2014 class.
Unfortunately for Pitino, Lyle did not play tonight as Bosse High School took on Evansville Harrison. Lyle sent out a Tweet prior to the game saying that he wouldn’t play due to missing the team bus. Lyle was on the bench in street clothes. Indiana head coach Tom Crean was also scheduled to be in attendance as well to see Lyle.
I spoke to a Louisville fan that was in attendance for the game and they tell me that they didn’t see Rick Pitino there.. I’m assuming he was tipped off that Lyle wouldn’t be playing before showing up at the gym.

I was at the game neither pitino nor crean were there. I live about 20 minutes from Jaquan’s school, I hear rumors all the time about him doing stupid stuff like this.

Nick I’ve got a question for you. Do you think Jaquan missing the bus and getting himself indefinetly suspended will sway Rick away from him. We’ve seen many times that Rick is a coach that doesn’t put up with any crap from player. I just wondered if this didnt rub Rick the wrong way,

I’ve watched him play and I feel he was quite lazy. Showed spurts of brilliance but doesn’t take control like like you feel a 5 star would.
