  1. Nick,,, interesting. You should listen to yourself. In the opening of the show, you said that the biggest thing this team needs to be a 1 loss team, is OFFENSE. Then, later, you question why Luke Hancock is in the game – while acknowledging that he’s a shooter. Steaky,, but a shooter. While Wayne has individual games in which he scores,, guess what – look at those games and you’ll find a pattern in which he disappears against tough, defensive teams. Rutgers (19); Marquette (9); Pitt (dnp); Georgetown (5) on 1 of 9. Bottom line, WB tends to disappear. You need guys who don’t disappear. Bottom line. You need consistent effort, attitude, and ability. That is where Wayne is falling short….. Why? Who knows…
This game is on 2 facets: Guards and Coach. Peyton and his silly fouls. Russ and his street ball mentality. Coach in his stubborn refusal to “coach” in late game situations. He leaves it in the “hands of the players” instead of TO’s. So – what happens when his players make bad decisions? Then,, those decisions are on Coach, because he didn’t call TO and give them advice about how to handle it. He didn’t “coach” them on what to do…. decisions to make.

Our coach is a great coach — but he is a DEFENSIVE COACH. He doesn’t call TO, because he thinks “defensively”. Doesn’t want the other team to be able to set their DEFENSE. Doesn’t know how to set an offense. Over his career, you can always point to all of his decisions being based on a “defensively minded” decision…. Think about it. Having said all of that, I’m glad he’s our coach, and hope the kids can figure out an offense in his absence….
    Take care,,, enjoyed the podcast……

There is no doubt that Wayne is inconsistent, but so it Luke. Louisville has had a tough time consistently getting production from the small forward position. My argument is that of the two, Wayne can give you more all around. However, when he disappears like you mentioned, I can understand why Pitino decides to go with Luke.
