Lamar Robbins, 6-foot-3, 190-pound cornerback from Miami, Florida signed with South Florida this morning. Robbins verbally committed to USF a couple of weeks ago, but there was some speculation that he may flip to Louisville.
He is one of the few recruits that Louisville fans were tracking this morning. Robins had taken an official visit to Louisville a couple of weeks ago, but decided to go with South Florida, calling Willie Taggart’s program a perfect fit for him. Charlie Strong visited with Robbins in Florida shortly after he committed to USF to try and make a late push.
Ro’Derrick Hoskins, a Florida State commit is another recruit that Louisville had hoped to flip, but he stayed loyal and signed with the Seminoles this morning.
Jermaine Grace, a 4-star linebacker from Miramar, FL., is the one recruit that Louisville is waiting to hear from. He’ll make his announcement this afternoon at 2 PM on ESPNU. He’ll decide between Louisville and Miami.

This is surprising because right now South Florida is on the outside looking in far as the BCS!

Indeed! A decision like that usually means A.) He knows he could NOT compete at this level or B.) Was afraid to leave home

At the end of the day, those that did not COMMIT to UL, did just that NOT COMMIT. We want those that are willing to make their own decisions like MEN and COMMIT to being a CARDINAL.

This is an example of things to come, it’s going to be more difficult to recruit out of florida. Miami is returning from their sanctions to become a factor, Taggart is expected to turn USF into a player along with the already well known schools in Florida. That is why our ACC invitation is all the more important because it will open up more opportunities in other states. Charlie will really need to start off Strong (pun intended) in the ACC for us to continue to recruit well and contend in big bowl games.

I don’t think Taggert will stay at south Florida he will get a better job. There staying in the big east he will win at south Florida. So bigger name schools will snatch him up. Louisville will always get Florida kids every coach that’s coached Louisville has gotten Florida kids so those are some deep roots from way back in the 80s
