Earl Clark LA

Earl Clark has been one of the more popular names in the NBA over the past month. After playing very briefly in his first three seasons in the NBA, Clark has finally gotten an opportunity this season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Since becoming a starter for the Lakers, Clark has been an integral piece to the veteran team. The Lakers have won five of their last six games with Clark averaging 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Clark will likely be a hot commodity following the 2013 season. While other teams may be able to sign him to a longer and more lucrative deal, Clark says he’d rather stay with the Lakers. They’ll be able to sign Clark as an unrestricted free agent even though they are already well over the salary cap next season.

“This is my first team that gave me an opportunity. I love the guys here,” Clark said. “The organization and the style of play fits me. I really want to stay here.”

I’ve never been a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, but they’re starting to be much more tolerable now that Clark is a huge part of the team. Clark is the first former Louisville player to have success in the NBA in a very long time.

  1. I’ve watched most of the Lakers games this Year. Earl is one of my all-time favorites at UL. I just admire his style of play. He still reps card nation and that makes him more likeable. Very happy he found home in the NBA. The guy needs a raise and respect to Coach P because I believe a lot of Earls success in LA is cause he can play Defense and basically can guard 1-5 on the floor. GO E-6….
