Jurich ACC

According to Chapel Hill, N.C., based sports writer Jason Staples, Louisville will be a part of the Coastal division in the Atlantic Coast Conference, when they join the league in 2014. With Louisville replacing Maryland who is leaving to join the Big 10, it was assumed that the Cards would end up in the Atlantic division. Staples reports that Georgia Tech will move to the Atlantic division and Louisville will take their place in the coastal division. If Staples is correct, this is what the divisions will look like when Louisville joins the league in 2014.

Atlantic Division

Coastal Division

Boston College

Virginia Tech

Clemson

Louisville

Florida State

Miami

Georgia Tech

Virginia

North Carolina State

North Carolina

Wake Forest

Duke

Syracuse

Pittsburgh

In regards to football, Louisville will likely benefit from being in the Coastal division as the Atlantic division is usually tougher. I’d prefer the Atlantic simply because it’d be nice to know that you’re going to play Florida State and Clemson each season.

  1. Does this mean in basketball that UofL will play UNC and Duke twice a year?

    • No. Divisions don’t apply to basketball.

  2. This just makes the championship game better!!

  3. I don’t think this is good for football, we could end up having a easy schedule some season with only Miami worth a shit. But great news for basketball.

    • F$U has made a living playing a weak ACC schedule and only having one game a year to really worry about: against the Florida Gators.

I think this will really work out well for the football team. Not sure how basketball is scheduled but I guess it’s time to learn about the ACC scheduling now. LOL!

      Go CARDS!

  4. Can’t wait to get Duke and UNC in both football and basketball (men’s and women’s). Soccer will be great too.

  5. Good news: acc best two teAms will be in the other division

  6. Doesn’t matter which division as long as its ACC baby…….Go CARDS!!!!!

  7. Nice in BB. Gotta love more national T.V. games
