This weekend was at one time expected to be a big recruiting weekend for the Louisville football program. With homegrown product Jason Hatcher no longer in the picture for Louisville and defensive lineman Corey Smith canceling his visit, Lyn Clark is the only uncommitted prospect that will be on campus this weekend.
Clark, a 6-foot 215-pound linebacker from New Orleans, LA., was previously committed to Tulane, but de-committed following an official visit with the hometown school. Louisville appears to be the favorite, while Louisiana Tech is also in considering. Clark is considered to be one of the more late bloomers in the 2013 class. His scholarship offer count has climbed in recent weeks.
Clark had 111 tackles, 9 sacks, 2 interceptions and forced 9 fumbles during his senior season.
Corey Smith, a 6-foot-7 defensive end is a high school teammate of Clarkâs and was supposed to join him on the visit, but cancelled last night. Smith is considered to be down to Louisville and Kentucky. However, he visited Lexington last week and cancelled his visit to Louisville, which could mean that the Wildcats are the favorite.
Donel Elam will also visit this weekend, but he has been committed to Louisville since last February. Elam has received offers and a lot of attention from both South Carolina and West Virginia in recent weeks.
