Rick Pitino shared some pleasant news this evening on his weekly radio show. Coach Pitino says Wayne Blackshear will likely play on Sunday as the Cardinals host Marquette. Blackshear missed Monday’s game against Pittsburgh due to a shoulder sprain that he suffered in practice.
“He (Blackshear) shot today (Thursday), he’ll practice tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday and should be ready for some time on Sunday,” Pitino said. When asked by C.L. Brown of the Courier Journal if he thinks Wayne will play, “I think he will,” says Pitino.
Sophomore guard Kevin Ware was suspended indefinitely earlier this week and also missed Monday’s game against Pittsburgh. Coach Pitino didn’t elaborate much on Ware’s suspension, but did say that he’d returned to practice. His initial suspension prohibited him from any activity with the team. “It was just something that he did wrong,” Pitino said. “We’ll rectify it and move on. Kevin has to make some changes as a man”

That’s very good news. We need both back and Blackshear needs to stay healthy. Ware is going to be the difference for this team i think, if he can play like he did during the red and white scrimmage theres no reason to think we can’t win it all. Listen to Pitino Ware, he knows what he’s doing and is only trying to make you a better man. Show us Card fans what you can do on the ball court. Lets beat Marquette on Saturday. Go Cards!!
