Lamar Robbins, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound cornerback from Miami, Florida verbally pledged to South Florida head coach Willie Taggart this morning. Robbins took an official visit to Louisville last weekend.
Robbins had been down to Louisville, South Florida and Oklahoma. He also had offers from Oklahoma, West Virginia and Purdue. Robbins also has offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Michigan State, Indiana, Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh among others.
Louisville recruiting coordinator Clint Hurtt had been pursuing Robbins for quite some time, but unfortunately the Louisville staff came up short on this one.
Robbins is the second recruit in just a week that has chose South Florida over Louisville. Defensive lineman Derrick Calloway was a Louisville commit when he visited last weekend, but flipped to USF on Monday.
Willie Taggart is going to make it harder for Charlie Strong to lure recruits from the state of Florida.

Taggart is a beast………..I knew it was going to be an instant impact. He will only be in USF for max of 3 years…….bigger fish will be calling.

This just adds insult to injury after the week basketball has had.

With just 4 or 5 offers left to give. I look at it as it is his lost not ours. One needs to be free for Mr. Hatcher. And the others for those who want to play for a program moving higher each year.

This is surprising considering South Florida has no idea what conference they will be in or if they will be part of the BCS I think more is going on!

Damn, I would’ve loved to have a 6’3″ corner on our team. Smh oh, well. Win some, lose some. His loss.
