As of yesterday, Kyle Shortridge, a 3-star defensive tackle from Seminole Ridge High School in Florida was the only scheduled visitor for Louisville this weekend. Apparently Shortridge will be bringing a teammate with him.
Rayfield Dixon, a 6-foot-2 190-pound safety prospect will be joining Shortridge at Louisville this weekend, according to Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post.
Dixon is currently rated as a 2-star prospect, but has an impressive scholarship offer list. He has visited Minnesota, West Virginia, and Purdue. He has visited all three schools.
According to Scout.com, Louisville hasn’t offered him a scholarship, but that could change. Charlie Strong said earlier this week that he is looking to add big and physical defensive backs. Dixon fits that description.
This time of the year is usually huge for Louisville football recruiting. With a limited amount of scholarships available in the 2013 class, I doubt Strong will much more commitments, but Shortridge and Dixon are two to keep an eye on.
