Former Card Jerry Smith Sidelined For Three Months With Foot Injury

Former Card Jerry Smith will be sidelined for the next three months with a foot injury. Smith, who is currently playing professionally in Italy for Chebolletta Cantu has suffered what is more commonly known as a Jones Fracture in his right foot.

The injury happened just two minutes into Chebolletta’s game on Sunday. He suffered this same injury as a senior in high school.

Chebolletta is currently in fourth place in Italy’s Seire A League with a 4-2 record. In six games this season, Smith is averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He is teammates with former Florida forward Alex Tyus and Louisville native Jeff Brooks, who played collegiately at Penn State.
