Louisville womens basketball coach Jeff Walz received his second verbal commitment from the 2013 class in less than 24 hours time. Alexis Montgomery, a highly regarded prospect from Beaverton, OR.

Montgomery chose the Cards over Hawaii, Seattle University and Virginia Tech. ESPN rates her as a three-star recruit and the No. 57 senior guard in the country. Montgomery joins Emmonnie Henderson of Edwardsville, IL., who verbally committed to Louisville yesterday. Both prospects visited Louisville over the weekend.

It wasn’t all good news for Jeff Walz today, as No. 1 rated prospect Mercedes Russell decided to commit to Tennessee instead of Louisville. Russell had been considering the Cards for quite some time and also visited Louisville with Montgomery and Henderson over the weekend. She is a very close friend and AAU teammate of Montgomery Russell is considered to be the best female high school players in recent years
